Seth Beagle scored on the game’s opening shift eight seconds in and the MJDP cruised to an 8-2 win over the Wooster Oilers Tuesday afternoon.
Beagle, Hugo Fonovic and Kam Hellman all collected two goals apiece to back Caden Fisher’s 27 saves in goal.
“We like that we won the game 8-2 and that we got on them early,” Metro Jets associate head coach Jamie Lovell said. “We had a good first period and that was one of the things we touched on pregame. The last few games, we’ve tilted the ice on teams but not on the scoreboard. We haven’t been able to find those goals early. Today, we got four goals in the first and were able to put a team away early.”
Alex Washburn added three assists, while captain Brayden Tayles (pictured front) and Max Hartwell (penalty shot, also pictured below) also scored. Joey Mocnik and Garrick Smith tacked on two assists each.

“The boys were buzzing and we had four lines banging,” Fisher said. “It was a good back and forth for pretty much the entire game. Killing off the 5-on-3, that was pretty fun.”
Sebastian Smith and Kyle Burke scored for Wooster and goalie Luke Bell made 40 saves.
The MJDP next hosts the Buffalo Thunder Friday night at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
