The MJDP scored its first goal in the opening minute of play Tuesday afternoon against the Fort Wayne Spacemen and never looked back, dominating the game and taking a 10-2 victory.
Patrick Hays collected a hat trick with an assist, while Tim Washburn scored twice and Mitch Forton and Max Hartwell each tallied a goal and two assists.
Daniel Miscavish made 15 saves to earn the win in goal.
“Everyone had a lot of fire under them and the past couple games, we were a little slow at the beginning and it seems the teams we play, maybe we play down to their level,” said Hartwell. “Something was different today and it showed on the scoreboard.”
Joey Mocnik and Seth Francois both posted a goal and an assist and Alex Washburn added a goal.
Austin Ieuter, Garrick Smith, Seth Beagle and Swedish newcomer Herman Ahokas all tacked on two assists in the win.

Charles-Andre Cypihot scored both goals for Fort Wayne and goalie Cedric Lariviere stopped 40 of 50 shots in suffering the loss between the pipes.
The MJDP next hosts a two-game set this coming weekend against the Midwest Blackbirds. Game times are 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
