MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – It was a busy five-game stretch for all three Metro Jets teams over the past week.

What’s better is the teams came away with four wins when all was said and done.

Starting out with a Wednesday double header at Mount Clemens Ice Arena, the MJDP edged the Motor City Gamblers 4-3 and the Jets defeated the Columbus Mavericks by an 8-1 count.

Noah Bodurka had two goals and an assist for the MJDP, while Alessandro Evangelista added a goal and an assist and Clovis Gamelin also scored to back Evan Peacock’s 23 saves in goal.

For Motor City, Alex Khammo, Braeden Goers and Ignacy Drozd scored, Alexander Yeung and Ethan Gray each tacked on two assists, and goaltender Tyler Houle made 38 saves.

Then in the Jets win, Sutton Majeske went for a goal and two assists and Jake Taylor and Luka Pivec each added a goal and an assist as Austin Muirhead made 14 saves between the pipes.

Evan Cote, River Lewis, Alek John, Jaxon Stone and Tim Monaghan also scored and Brycen Smith and Isaiah Winters chipped in a pair of assists apiece.

Caden Cavalieri tallied the lone Columbus goal and Robert Cook and Lukas Kamenicky combined on a 42-save effort in net.

On Thursday, the Jets Elite team took down Motor City by a 4-1 score.

Ryder Tracy, Jarrett LaGrow, Justin Ward and Daniell Luska scored and Tabor Hatch finished with 19 saves in net.

Ward and Luska added assists for two-point games and Sean O’Connor added a pair of helpers.

“It was a big two points that the boys got today,” Jets associate coach Danny Vanderwiel said. “We came out well but once it became 3-1, we took our foot off the game for the second half of the second period. With that being said, we did a great job responding by coming out in the third and not allowing them to get back into the game.

“It is critical for a team to be able to close out games and not allow an opponent to get back into it when you get to an early lead. Especially going forward as we prepare for playoffs, we need to play a full 60 minutes and finish every shift.”

Tadd Siglow posted the Gamblers’ lone goal and goalie Phillip Tate made 38 saves.

Friday night at the Team Toledo IceHouse, the Jets dropped a 5-2 decision to the Toledo Cherokee.

Majeske and Pivec scored and Andrew Parmentier finished with 30 saves in net.

“Tough loss tonight,” said Jets associate head coach Jamie Lovell. “The effort was there, just not the execution. Too many miscues on pucks at crucial moments. We had opportunities and just didn’t capitalize.

“Wrong game, wrong opponent and wrong time of the season to have an off night, but all the credit to Toledo tonight as they played hard and deserved to win.”

For Toledo, goaltender Austin Nowak made 51 saves, while Caden Glamkowski went for a goal and two assists.

Carson Muglia, Gavin Elkins, Jay Cormier and Trevin Johnson also rallied for Toledo and Cameron Krause tacked on two assists.

Concluding the weekend at home Saturday, the MJDP team took a big 6-2 win over Toledo.

Caleb Simpson put up a goal and three assists and Chris Kobayashi scored twice in the win to go along with 29 saves from goaltender Will Belitski.

“This week was a great week for us,” Jets associate coach Jake Howie. “Started with a nice midweek win over Motor City and capped with a big win at home over Toledo. The guys have just been really good at the little details over the last month and they are starting to see results for it. And on top of doing the little things, we are starting to get some timely scoring as well.

“Team is playing really well here down the stretch and a hot team going into the playoffs here.”

Ludovick Dussault added a goal and an assist, while Gamelin and McKenna Baker scored and Evangelista contributed a pair of helpers.

Jacob Myers and Landon Edwards posted Toledo’s goals and Nowak and Caleb Kril combined to make 35 saves between the pipes.
