MHC rolls over Motor City with 10-3 win Wednesday afternoon in Redford

REDFORD, Mich. – The MHC brought out the offense Wednesday afternoon, routing the Motor City Hockey Club 10-3 at the Redford Ice Arena.

Brennan Zatelli and Ethan Smith (pictured below) each had two goals, while Matt Vanderworp compiled a goal and two assists and Jackson Moleski added three assists to back Sal Carabelli’s 21 saves in goal.

Joey Sherman and Ronny Zamojski each posted a goal and an assist and Connor Hilliker, Tyler Hilliker and Gavin Walters scored goals as well.

Darin Kennedy (pictured front) and John Taylor chipped in with two assists apiece.

The MHC next travels to Fort Wayne this coming Sunday for a 4:30 p.m. puck drop with the Fort Wayne Spacemen.

  • Goaltender Jake Stephan spent the 2014-15 season in net for the #MetroJets, putting up a 2.60 GAA with a .901 save percentage while also earning an NAHL call up to the Michigan Warriors.

The Wisconsin native then played four years of NCAA Division III hockey for Minnesota-based Concordia College from 2016-20, going 21-15-3 with a 2.39 GAA, a .920 save percentage with three shutouts in 65 games.

Andrew Kormos (2016-18) was a member and the goalie in net when the Jets won their 4th National Championship in 2018. Kormos then went on to play 4 years and 40+ games of NCAA hockey for @nec.hockey. He then capped his career off with a stint in the @echlhockey for the Norfolk Admirals.
