MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – The Metro Jets and MJDP teams each split their weekend series, the Jets with the Toledo Cherokee and the MJDP with the Chicago Cougars.
Friday night, the Cougars used a late goal from Kyle Lamphere at 15:48 of the third period to down the MJDP 3-2 at Mount Clemens Ice Arena and the Jets fell 4-2 at the Team Toledo IceHouse.
Jacob Lawrence had a goal and an assist for the MJDP and Nick Juzych also scored as Andrew Parmentier finished with 25 saves.
TJ Haas and Cam Schneider added goals for Chicago and Sebastian Wigfield made 30 stops in goal.
In Toledo, Tyler Husted and Yarne Vaerewyck scored for the Jets and Rocco Stolz turned aside 28 shots between the pipes.
Jacob Slater, Nick Millhorn, David Crandall and Jason Crossland scored and Frank Murphy made 35 saves.
Saturday night, the tables were turned as the MJDP rolled to a 5-1 win and the Jets doubled up Toledo 4-2 in an afternoon doubleheader at Mount Clemens.
Lawrence went for a goal and an assist, while Josh Boze, Jack Rivera, Ethan Smith, and Brady Hoffmeyer scored to back Taylor White’s 27 saves.

Arthur Pawlik netted Chicago’s lone goal and Jack Coleman stopped 31 shots for the Cougars.
Robert Vanderdonck posted a goal and an assist for the Jets and Husted, Carson Finney, and Ugo Lollier also scored in the win as Freddy Soderberg made 31 stops.
While the Jets and Cherokee tied the two-game Coney Cup series, Toledo won the trophy by virtue of winning the season series.
Slater and Crossland scored for Toledo, Millhorn assisted on both, and Murphy finished with 31 saves.
This week, the Jets are in Cincinnati Wednesday for a 4 p.m. puck drop at the Heritage Bank Center, followed by an 8 p.m. game Friday night in Columbus at the OhioHealth Chiller North and a 6 p.m. start Monday night in Battle Creek at The Rink Battle Creek.
The MJDP hosts Motor City Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and then heads to Fort Wayne for a 5:30 p.m. opening faceoff Saturday at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
