MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – It was another solid stretch for the three Metro Jets teams last week as the squads took three of four wins against their competition.

The Jets defeated the Cincinnati Jr. Cyclones 12-4 Thursday afternoon on the road before coming home to take a 6-4 victory Friday night over the Nashville Spartans on home ice at Mount Clemens Ice Arena.

Also on home ice, the MJDP doubled up the Motor City Gamblers 6-3 Thursday afternoon and the Jets Elite team dropped a close 4-3 decision to Motor City last Wednesday afternoon at Mount Clemens.

“I liked our guys’ compete level,” Jets associate coach Jake Howie said after the Nashville win. “We get down two goals there and we battled to come back and not give up. That’s a big hockey game to get two points out of and give us a little cushion for first place.”

This weekend, the Jets play a home-and-home series with the Toledo Cherokee, starting Friday night at 7 p.m. from the Team Toledo IceHouse and wrapping Saturday at 6:15 p.m. from Mount Clemens Ice Arena.

“We just have to keep it simple and play our game,” said Howie.

For Motor City, Josh Koza, Trevor Touchton, Dustin Fretter and Cody Adams popped goals and Braedyn Sullivan turned aside 33 shots in net.
