MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – The Metro Jets finished off the USPHL Winter Showcase Sunday afternoon with a resounding 4-1 win over the Rockets Hockey Club at the New England Sports Center.
Tied 1-1 after the first period, the Jets then scored three unanswered goals to take the victory behind Daniel Miscavish’s 19 saves in goal.
“The boys worked hard for the win,” said Jets assistant coach Tina Ciraulo. “They came out wanting it and they did their jobs, but we couldn’t have pulled it off without Miscavish in net. He had some great saves and kept us on top. I’m happy with the boys’ response in today’s game after coming off two losses.
“They all knew what we had to do to get the job done.”
Kam Hellman had a goal and an assist in the win to go along with single goals from Niko Murgic, Alex Schaumburger and Chad Noetzel.
The Jets outshot the Rockets 24-20.

Also Sunday, the MJDP played its final game at the showcase, dropping an 8-3 decision to the Florida Eels.
Ville Karlsson, Joey Carpenter and Carson Finney scored in the third period for the MJDP after surrendering a 6-0 lead after two periods.
Freddy Soderberg and Ethan Ryan combined on 37 saves between the pipes.
This week, the Jets host the Wooster Oilers Thursday at 1 p.m. from Mount Clemens Ice Arena and the MJDP plays at home Friday night at 7:30 p.m. against the Detroit Fighting Irish before going on the road to play the Fort Wayne Spacemen from the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
