FRASER, Mich. – The Metro Jets trailed 2-1 after 20 minutes, but roared back in the final 40 minutes to down the Lansing Wolves 7-4 Saturday night at Fraser Hockeyland to sweep the home-and-home series between the two clubs.

Seven different players scored for the Jets – Joey Bruce, Joey Demarte, Tanner Neill, Conner Graham, Cory Schwartz (with one second left in the second period), Justin Song and Jeremy Schwartz – while Demarte added a pair of assists and Neill, Graham and Jeremy Schwartz all had an assist to record multi-point games.

Jhuwon Davis (pictured) tacked on three assists and Jaylen Dziegelewski notched a pair of helpers to help back Fredrik Meurling’s 25 saves in goal.

“It was a big swing weekend for our guys and we knew heading in that it was going to be a tough two games,” Jets coach-GM Justin Quenneville said. “Obviously, Lansing is holding down first place right now, but we’ve got a significant amount of games in hand. We put a lot of pressure on the guys tonight to be strong right out of the gates and they had spurts in the first where they came to play, but Lansing pushed back. Overall, we responded for the last 40 and Freddy made some great saves and we capitalized on some chances.”

For the Wolves, Brendan Smith scored twice, Jacob Deratany added a goal and two assists and Ryan Weaver also scored. Jeremy Skaife made 24 saves on 31 shots before Brendan Price played the final 6:24 and stopped all three shots he faced.

Also Saturday night, the Metro Jets DP Team topped the Wooster Oilers 2-1 at the Alice Noble Ice Arena in Wooster, Ohio. Colin Day and Matt Bleim scored and Anthony Carlier made 33 saves between the pipes.

The Jets host Wooster next Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. for the annual Hockey Fights Cancer “Pink In The Rink” game at Fraser Hockeyland.

The Metro Jets DP Team travels to play the Detroit Fighting Irish next Wednesday at the Brownstown Sports Center at 7:30 p.m.
