FRASER, Mich. – Another pair of Metro Jets standouts have been called up to the NCDC.

Second-year forward Anthony Cinato and rookie defenseman Justin Song will head to the Boston Jr. Bruins this week to start practicing and could play with the Jr. Bruins this coming weekend.

Jets rookie forwards Nick Ceccarini and Conner Graham were called up to the NCDC’s Connecticut Jr. Rangers yesterday.

The NCDC is the tuition-free, Tier II arm of the USPHL and the leader in college and NCAA Division I commitments.

Both players can’t wait to get to Beantown.

“The Jets have prepared me since Day 1 being here, learning the little things on the ice with ‘Q’ (Jets coach-GM Justin Quenneville) that have helped my game a ton,” said Cinato, a Warren native. “Working with (associate head coach) Jamie Lovell all summer at the MAT has made me stronger. Everyone in the organization takes pride in wanting to make you better.

“Going to Boston is a good opportunity and I’m excited to gain more experience and play at a high pace.”

So far this season, Cinato leads the Jets in scoring with 20 goals and 20 assists for 40 points in 38 games.

Song is on the same page as Cinato.

“Development is the No. 1 thing the Jets program stresses and from Day 1, our coaches help us by working on good habits on and off the ice,” said the Farmington Hills native. “In Boston, I’m not sure what to expect honestly. I’m really just excited to soak in as much as I can while I’m there and practice with the guys.”

Song has posted seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points in 37 games from the Metro blue line this season.

Quenneville is proud to see two players’ hard work pay off with the move to the NCDC.

“We are happy for the boys to get this opportunity,” said Quenneville. “Not only to get the chance to be with a top organization, but a program that has 15-plus Division I commitments this season is unbelievable. It’s great to see programs like this continue to lead the way for college opportunities and we look to continue to develop players that they will find interest. Good luck to Justin and AC.” 

The Jr. Bruins play the PAL Jr. Islanders Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and Sunday at 12:50 p.m.
