MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – The Metro Jets finished up the USPHL Winter Showcase Monday with a pair of thrilling wins.

Kicking off the day, Jaylen Dziegelewski (pictured) scored in overtime to lift the Jets to a 3-2 win over the South Shore Kings.

Joey Demarte and Conner Graham also scored, and Fredrik Meurling finished with 17 saves as the Jets outshot South Shore 47-18.

Then Monday afternoon, the Jets bested the Boston Bandits 2-1 on goals from Brandon Graham and Anthony Cinato.

Jets goalie Brian Tallieu made 22 saves as Metro outshot the Bandits 29-23.

“Credit to the league for making this schedule extremely difficult,” said Jets coach-GM Justin Quenneville. “The competition was high-end, and the scouts were everywhere again. At the end of the day, we beat another really good team and they played hard. The goaltending here was unbelievable and I’m happy we came away with some big wins, but the event and exposure was the biggest reward.

“Our guys played their most complete game today and even though we couldn’t find the back of the net a lot, sometimes you need to just grind through and win the hard way. We did that here.”

Next up is a busy slate of games this weekend.

The MJDP Team is scheduled to play an outdoor game Friday at Clark Park in Detroit against the Motor City Hockey Club. Weather permitting and time TBD. More details are forthcoming.

The MJDP then plays Saturday on the road against the Tri City Icehawks at 7:30 p.m. before coming home Sunday to play Motor City at 3:30 p.m. at Fraser Hockeyland.

The Jets are on road for three this weekend - in Lansing Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and then two in Pittsburgh Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
