BOSTON – The Metro Jets opened the USPHL Islanders Hockey Club Showcase on Friday with a 3-1 record.

Kicking things off early Friday morning, the Metro Jets DP Team fell 4-1 to the Northern Cyclones as Trevor Granzow (pictured) netted the lone goal and Anthony Carlier finished with 29 saves between the pipes.

The Jets then used nine different goal scorers - Nick Ceccarini, Conner Graham, Rhett Limback, Joey Demarte, Anthony Cinato, Christian Rawling, Jeremy Schwartz, Cory Schwartz and Brandon Graham - and Brian Tallieu made 13 saves as the Jets downed the Connecticut Jr. Rangers 9-2 Friday afternoon.

Later Friday, Zack Kippe, Granzow and Jake Aslanian all scored while Will Augustine finished with 22 saves as the Jets DP Team defeated the Rochester Monarchs 3-1.

Rounding out the day, Fredrik Meurling made 25 saves - and then all three in the shootout - and Jaylen Dziegelewski potted the lone goal in regulation as the Jets downed the Islanders Hockey Club 2-1 in a shootout.

The Jets’ PK was outstanding in going 8 for 8.
