FRASER, Mich. – The Pittsburgh Vengeance avoided a weekend sweep with a convincing 4-1 win over the Metro Jets Sunday afternoon at Fraser Hockeyland.

Jaylen Dziegelewski snapped Charlie Olsson’s shutout bid at 18:55 of the third period.

Metro goalie Will Augustine (pictured) finished with 26 saves in suffering the defeat.

“We came out flat and couldn't match Pittsburgh’s energy,” said Jets coach Dan Pszenyczny. “Our focus and work ethic did not carry over from last night’s game, and it showed. If it wasn't for Augustine, the score could've been a lot more lopsided. He played a solid game and came up with saves when he needed to, but we just didn't play in front of him to give ourselves an opportunity to be in the game.

“We just need it to minimize the small mistakes and work on making the simple, smaller plays.”

Nick Erker, August Bouveng, Joar Rosengard and Nick Ventura scored for Pittsburgh, while Olsson turned aside 17 shots in goal.

This week, the Jets and MJDP Team head to suburban Chicago for a USPHL Showcase event.
