FRASER, Mich. – After giving up the first goal on the first shift of the game, the Metro Jets settled in and defeated the Lansing Wolves 7-3 Sunday afternoon at Fraser Hockeyland.

Jhuwon Davis (two goals, two assists), Jeremy Schwartz (goal, three assists) and Joey Bruce (goal, three assists) all compiled four-point games and goaltender Brian Tallieu made 23 saves for the win between the pipes.

“I feel like we responded well after that little hiccup there in the first, getting down 1-0, but we definitely took it to them in the first and capitalized on our chances and kept it simple and were rewarded for it,” said Jets coach-GM Justin Quenneville. “For the most part, I felt like our guys were more crisper with their plays and put forth that second effort in finishing their shifts.

“Overall, there’s a lot we need to work on, but I can’t complain going 2-0 on the weekend.”

Tanner Neill, Connor Graham and Brandon Graham also scored for the Jets.

Brendan Smith posted a pair of goals for the Wolves, Carter Stensland added a single and Sean Finstrom stopped 29 shots in suffering the defeat in goal.

The Jets travel to play the Wooster Oilers next Saturday night. Puck drop set for 7:45 p.m. at the Alice Noble Ice Arena.

Streaming of the game will be available on www.HockeyTV.com.
