Jets, MJDP go combined 3-1 Saturday at USPHL Chicago Showcase

CHICAGO – The Metro Jets and MJDP fared well Saturday at the USPHL Chicago Showcase.

The Jets lost to the Hudson Havoc 1-0 as Will Augustine made 36 saves in goal.

Later, Jets captain Brodie Thornton scored the only goal in the shootout as Metro knocked off the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings 2-1.

Conner Graham scored in regulation and Machus Turner stopped 53 shots and all four in the shootout.

The MJDP went 2-0, first beating the Minnesota Blue Ox 2-1 on goals from Patrick Hays and Mitchell Hoon (also with an assist) and 38 saves out of Kris Eberly.

In the nightcap, Logan Davis and Parker Wolters netted goals and Ethan Ryan turned aside 39 shots for the win in goal over the Dells Ducks.

Sunday, the Jets play the Blue Ox at 12:50 p.m. and the MJDP starts the day with the Havoc at 9:40 a.m.
