DIMONDALE, Mich. – Michael Paul put together a solid 35-save effort to lead the Metro Jets MJDP team to a 3-0 shutout over the Lansing Wolves Friday night from The Summit Sports and Ice Complex.

Mitchell Hoon, Nick McDougall and Jake Aslanian, who also had two assists, scored for the MJDP.

“It was a good game, had a lot of fun out there,” Paul said. “I was confident in our defensemen as they did a great job forcing everything to the outside for me to make an easy save. A shutout always means a lot to me but no doubt that it’s a team effort. I couldn’t have done it without these guys.

“We’re excited to head home for tomorrow night’s game and try to pick up another big two points.”

Jets coach Dan Pszenyczny agreed with his goaltender.

“We outplayed them and sustained pressure on them well throughout the game,” said Pszenyczny. “They did a great job tilting the ice on them and we expect another tough game tomorrow, but we will reset and look to get another two points tomorrow at home.”

Lansing goalie Gavin Hudspeth finished with 30 saves in suffering the defeat.

Saturday, the Jets play a doubleheader at Fraser Hockeyland as the Jets host the Columbus Mavericks at 4:30 p.m. and the MJDP and Lansing rematch in the nightcap at 7:30 p.m.

Both games will be streamed on www.HockeyTV.com with live updates on the USPHL app.
