DIMONDALE, Mich. – Lansing Wolves goaltender Andrew Kelly made 59 saves to lead the Wolves to a 6-3 win over the Metro Jets Saturday night at The Summit Sports and Ice Complex in suburban Lansing.

Matt Cruz, Conner Graham and Josh German scored for the Jets and Machus Turner made 11 saves in goal as the Jets outshot Lansing 62-16.

“We will use this as a teaching moment for our players,” said Jets associate head coach Jamie Lovell. “We can’t expect to just show up and play and everything will just figure itself out eventually. Lansing had a game plan going into tonight’s game to sit back, defend well around their net and wait for a good chance to capitalize on and they did that.

“Their goaltender played very well, but we didn’t execute offensively well enough. We made some glaring mistakes that led to too many odd-man rushes against, which they converted. It’s very disappointing but at the same time, we will try and use it and, hopefully, learn from it. We have to if we are to compete with the top teams in this league.”

Dakota Hitts posted three goals and an assist to lead the Lansing offense.

Next up for the Jets is two more games on the road, heading to Pittsburgh to play the Pittsburgh Vengeance next Saturday and Sunday. Game time is 6:30 p.m. Saturday night and 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

The MJDP team plays one game at home Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. against the Fort Wayne Spacemen.

All Jets games will be available on www.HockeyTV.com along with live updates on the USPHL app.
