LEWIS CENTER, Ohio – The Metro Jets were anxious to get back to division games this weekend and showed no mercy Saturday night with a 10-0 win over the Columbus Mavericks at OhioHealth Chiller North.

Alec Lindecker (pictured) led the offense with three goals, while Cam Conover added two goals and two assists and Will Augustine stopped all 11 shots he faced in goal.

Augustine also stopped Tyler Riddle on a penalty shot early in the second period.

The Jets outshot Columbus 57-11.

“We were moving our feet well tonight, which makes it tough for teams to defend us,” Jets associate head coach Jamie Lovell said. “We got some goals on the power play tonight and that should help give us some confidence with the man advantage moving forward.”

Matt Bleim chipped in a goal and a pair of helpers, Anthony Cinato went for a goal and an assist and Justin Renzi, Jets captain Brodie Thornton and Justin Song added single goals.

Columbus goalies Luke Bell and Hayden Hoover combined to make 47 saves.

Metro is next in action Sunday at 5 p.m., hosting the Toledo Cherokee at Fraser Hockeyland.

“We have a good test in front us tomorrow with Toledo,” Lovell said. “They’re playing well and are confident. Our guys need to refocus and be ready to play come puck drop tomorrow at 5.”
