FRASER, Mich. – Rhett Limback and Jhuwon Davis each scored two goals to pace the Metro Jets past the Wooster Oilers 7-2 Saturday night at Fraser Hockeyland.
Jeremy Schwartz added a goal and an assist, while Andrew Kormos made 22 saves in goal for Metro.
“I felt we played, more or less, a complete game in all three zones, with the exception of a couple blemishes that ended up in the back of our net,” said Jets coach-GM Justin Quenneville. “Overall, I think we addressed this week the right way after the break and obviously, we were hungry to get back on the ice for a game.
“Our guys were patient and smart and did the little things tonight to get up on (Wooster) early and the score was indicative of how we played.”
Connor Inger and Anthony Cinato also scored, George Hansen (pictured), Trevor Momot and Jets captain Griffin Sawyer had two assists and Limback added an assist for a three-point performance.
For Wooster, Zach King and Zac Steele scored and Michael Hubbard finished with 39 saves in suffering the defeat between the pipes.
The Jets next play the Lansing Wolves on the road next Friday night at 7:30 p.m. before coming back to Fraser the following evening to host the Southern Tier Xpress at 7 p.m.
