Jets fall in Game 1 of East Division semifinal to Woznicki, West Michigan

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – It was the Sam Woznicki show Friday night at The Rink at Battle Creek.

The West Michigan Wolves’ goaltender stopped 49 shots as the Wolves took a 1-0 lead over the Metro Jets in the two teams’ best-of-three East Division semifinal with a 5-2 win Friday night.

“Tonight was a good playoff game,” said Jets coach-GM Justin Quenneville. “Their goalie played really well.”

Louis Boudon and Cam Schwartz (pictured) scored for the Jets and Andrew Kormos started and made 17 saves on 22 shots before Brian Tallieu played the third period and stopped all five shots he faced.

The Jets outshot the Wolves 51-27.

Game 2 is back at Fraser Hockeyland tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
